Who is Sarah?

I am a neighbor.

Hi, I’m Sarah Baker.  I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. My mom, Terri and my Dad, Jeff were teens. They were married for 2 short years, then I was primarily raised by my mom, who remarried when I was 5 to my stepdad, Pat. From the very beginning of life, we had some odds stacked against our success. Through hard work, determination, trials-and-errors, friend, and family support, I am where I am today.

I grew up in a small rural Ohio town that grew before my eyes. I continued to live there through most of my adult life, until 2018 when my lifelong dream to move to the Sunshine State, came true.  With my first word being “lizard” excitedly showing my grandpa a Florida anole one vacation morning, it was simply meant to be!

Together with my husband, Joe, and our son’s Isaac (22) and Ezra (11), moving to Florida was a great adventure and so has been every day since making that move! When we first moved to Florida, we lived in the Waterford Lakes/Alafaya area. It was a beautiful community but didn’t feel like home.  A few years ago we found our dream home in Winter Springs. This community felt like everything we were looking for.  With nearly 3 acres of land, a clear creek in our backyard, and close to shopping and dining, we have settled comfortably into the Winter Springs way of life.

I work from home in restaurant marketing.  I manage the marketing for 323 restaurants throughout the Midwest.  My husband, Joe, works in Cybersecurity and teaches the subject through a few other colleges online.  Isaac is in college, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and Ezra is home schooled and loves all things science, but mostly space.  Isaac’s girlfriend, Dani, of over 3 years is soon attending law school after completing her Bachelor's in Business.  I couldn't be more proud of them all! Traveling is an activity we all greatly enjoy together.  Our most recent big trip was driving around Iceland over 10 days.  When you live somewhere tropical, I guess you go where it's cold on vacation?

We are a big animal family.  We have 3 dogs; Zoey, Stella, and Venus, 2 cats; NASA, Nova, and a bearded dragon named Ceres. Never a dull moment with all these critters!
